Getting Here

It's easy to find your way to Sandsend, it's just next to Whitby on the North Yorkshire coast.

From the South

If you're travelling from the south, via Scarborough or similar, you'll find yourself on the A171 which runs through Whitby. Look for signs for the A174 (Sandsend) then follow this wonderful coastal road for about 4 miles out of Whitby and you'll be in Sandsend. Just as you reach the bottom of the steep hill leading out of the village towards Lythe, there's a private road to the left which leads into The Valley, follow the private road past the church and you'll see The Woodlands ahead of you.

From the West

If you're travelling from the west, from Leeds, York or similar, you'll be on the A169 which runs from Pickering to Whitby. Look for signs for the A174 (Sandsend) then follow this wonderful coastal road for about 4 miles out of Whitby and you'll be in Sandsend. Just as you reach the bottom of the steep hill leading out of the village towards Lythe, there's a private road to the left which leads into The Valley, follow the private road past the church and you'll see The Woodlands ahead of you.

From the North

If you're travelling from the north, from Middlesbrough or similar, you'll be on the A171 or A174 which both run from Middlesbrough to Whitby. If you're on the A171 look for signs for the A174 (Sandsend) then follow this wonderful coastal road for about 4 miles out of Whitby and you'll be in Sandsend. Just as you reach the bottom of the steep hill leading out of the village towards Lythe, there's a private road to the left which leads into The Valley, follow the private road past the church and you'll see The Woodlands ahead of you.

If you're already on the A174 you'll come through the village of Lythe and then down a steep hill into Sandsend, before you reach the bottom of the hill turn right onto the private road which leads past a church and to The Woodlands.
